We study molecular mechanisms and genetics of pathological conditions. Our special interests are the development and aging of muscles, heavy metal toxicity, and the organization of the cell nucleus. Our main research model is the fruit fly, Drosophila melanogaster.
The lab's PI is Dr. Anton Bryantsev, an Associate Professor of Developmental Biology in the Department of Molecular Biology, Kennesaw State University.
